For the past six years, Chris Duncan has served as the District Three City Councilman in Sulphur. He has also been an active community volunteer, business owner, and family man. Christopher "Chris" Duncan was born at Chennault Air Force Base in 1961. His father was in the Air Force for 21 years and at the end of his military career Chris' father chose to retire in the Lake Area. Chris has been a resident of Sulphur for 22 wonderful years. As Chris and his wife, Angel, of 18 years began to plan a life together they chose to make their home and raise their family in the beautiful city of Sulphur. Together they celebrate the incredible blessing of having three children: Kathryn, Nikolas, and Madison and have recently welcomed their first grandchild, Kathryn's son, Sam. As a community volunteer, Chris has had a hands-on approach. Through organizations such as Calcasieu Rebuilding Together, Buddyball and Rotary, he has proven his love for our community and the local residents with his time, money and talents. Chris has also devoted much time to serving our youth as a local PTO Chairman and as a coach for recreational sports and being a team sponsor for many years. The Louisiana Soccer Association recently recognized Chris as the State Volunteer of the Year for 2009. Chris has been the President of the Chris Duncan Agency for the past 24 years and has built a successful business by living the values of hard work, integrity and respect, which will also guide him in the position of Sulphur Mayor.
